Every provider has encountered patients with anatomy that makes intubation
impossible, regardless of their skill level or chosen technique. Increased obesity,
sleep apnea, post-surgical conditions and airway disease have made difficult air-
way management commonplace in both urban hospitals and rural surgery cen-
ters.
