On a Wristband,
Green Means Go

Sherry Rogers, RN, CNOR, CASC
ur circulators place a green snap-on
clasp on a patient's wristband to alert
anesthesia that patients are ready for
surgery. The green clasp tells anesthesia that
the patient can be sedated, and that all paperwork, including consents and the H&P, is
completed. We use a red snap-on clasp to signify that patients have an allergy.
