As far as the expense is concerned, facilities face some tough choic-
es when trying to decide what will give them the biggest bang for their
buck. But if I could, I'd put a UV light system in every single one of
my clients' centers
and I'd say at least
use it at the end of
the day.
I'm not sure about
using them for OR
turnover when you
have multiple back-to-
back surgeries going
on, because typically
they need at least 15
minutes to work. But
having recently seen
the newer equipment,
I think there may be
potential for between-
case disinfection. It's
an evolving arena and
something to consid-
er.
When there are
problems related to
the environment, it
means cleaning isn't
getting done effective-
ly, and you have to
