On other days she serves as a floating tech who transports scopes from procedure rooms to the reprocessing area, helps turn over rooms and removes scopes from automatic endoscope reprocessors (AERs) at the end of cycles — that's so techs who are cleaning scopes at the sink can continue to work without having to constantly degown and regown to handle clean scopes. The floating tech also jumps in and helps with manual cleaning to give the scope cleaner regular breaks.
