ere's a cool, atraumatic way to seat the LMA
perfectly every time — without poking your fingers in the
patient's mouth. Ask the patient to open his mouth wide just
as you're ready to bolus him with propofol IV. As the jaw slackens,
just drop the LMA into the still-open mouth without touching the
teeth or the sides of the oral cavity. You have to time it perfectly, but
once you get the hang of it, it's a very classy move.
