It reduces bioburden on the surface of a scope as well as in its working channels. Is it OK to use the same brush to clean channels on more than one scope? Absolutely not, but when wearing my accreditation surveyor hat I've seen techs attempt to justify the worrisome practice by claim- ing they don't want to waste a new brush at the end of a day. They also point out scopes are run through cycles in automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs) that integrate all of the channels. That may be true, but using the same brush on multiple endoscopes increases the risk, however small, of cross-contamination and should never be done. Published data proves the ASP EVOTECH ® ECR provides a more consistent outcome than manual cleaning in conjunction with a traditional AER. 1 Study Result Highlights: à,QGHSHQGHQWSHHUUHYLHZHGVWXGLHV 1,2 VXSSRUWWKHEHQHéWV of EVOTECH ® ECR automated cleaning when compared to manual cleaning. à7KH(927(&+ ® ECR provides an automated approach that HIIHFWLYHO\FOHDQVêH[LEOHHQGRVFRSHV à7KH(927(&+ ® ECR provides effective removal of both organic material and bioburden from all channels and all VXUIDFHVRIWKHêH[LEOHHQGRVFRSHVHYDOXDWHG à7KH(927(&+ ® ECR cleaning cycle provides reliable organic and bioburden removal from 98.8% of surfaces and 99.7% of lumens For more study results, please visit www.aspjj.com.
