Still looking to add
You need adequate case volume to support the switch to rigid
containers. We began by transitioning our arthroscopy tools to rigid
containers and eventually did the same for instruments from other
high-volume specialties, including plastics and podiatry. We still use
blue wrap for instruments used during general surgery, ENT and
oculoplastics because we don't yet have the volume to justify
investing in rigid containers for those specialties. But I'm constantly
watching to see if the blue wrap starts to pile up after those
procedures. If it does, I'll perform another cost analysis and won't
hesitate to add more containers.
