image-guidance sys-
tem is best for your

When Ms. Cunningham and the center's surgeons began their
search for a suitable system to purchase, they considered 2 elec-
tromagnetic guidance platforms, one of which the surgeons had
been using at a local hospital. "Both systems cost about the same
and had similar features," says Ms. Cunningham. "The key differ-
ence in our decision was the customer support we'd receive."
Here are 3 factors that helped Ms. Cunningham identify which
company would provide the support her facility needed:
1. Shared knowledge. The company that supplied the nearby
hospital with its image-guidance system was going to start pro-
viding support for an image guidance system from another com-
pany with which they had partnered. That meant all the reps and
support people had to learn how to use the new technology along
