Smith & Nephew | NaVIO Surgical System
Working with 3D modeling software to map the patient's
anatomy, the NAVIO surgeon-guided robotic system can
navigate in tough-to-reach places, and make exacting
cuts and bores to prepare the joint surface. For partial
knees, NAVIO's software helps a surgeon map out the
surgery, and then use this information to create a surgi-
cal plan that eliminates the need for mechanical guides.
The surgeon can then use handheld instrumentation
with a navigation array and 2 modes of control — speed
and exposure — to prepare the bone for implantation.
The results: precise, repeatable implant alignment and
ligament balance, without the need for a pre-op CT scan.
