o members of your perioperative team look like they're still
waiting for their coffee to kick in during Monday morning
meetings? Pump some life into the hallway huddles by gener-
ating conversation beyond the day's room assignments and case sched-
ule. Have staff members share some fun or meaningful things they did
over the weekend. Ask them to acknowledge the positive performance
of one of their colleagues or apologize to someone they may have
wronged during a previous shift. Sharing personal stories and dis-
cussing ways to improve the team's overall performance builds a sense
of community among the staff, reenergizes everyone for the day ahead
and starts the week off right.
