they should feel safe and appreciated for doing so. Overcoming obstacles The big picture is one in which we need to do a much better job of promoting communication in general. And note that communication doesn't have to be negative. I would like to see everybody get together at the end of every day and each mention one thing that went well and why. You can then aggregate those things and incorporate them into your training, knowing that they led to better results. But there are obstacles to overcome. Physicians have great techni- cal knowledge and skills, but many have little or no education regard- ing leadership.
