M
aybe it's the
Italian mother
in me, but I'm a
firm believer that sur-
geons should never worry
about going hungry when
they're in my center. To
make sure they focus on
patient care and not a
growling stomach, I stock
a cabinet in my office with
their favorite snacks. It's a
small gesture that they
truly appreciate. Plus,
I can touch base with
them, ask about their
needs and get their
sense of what's going
on in the ORs when
they stop by to refuel
on snack bars, cereal
or sinful treats.
