Medical Care Gone Wrong
A new study by patient safety researchers shows incredibly common
medical errors — everything from bad doctors to patient handoff
communication breakdowns — claim 251,000 lives every year, mak-
ing medical care the third-leading cause of death in the United
States, after heart disease and cancer.
