systems arrived around the turn of the century. We're still very early in
finding out what the technologies can do, and need to ask a lot more
questions. There's also the cost: Most systems will put a six-figure
expense on your capital budget. But new technology always becomes
more affordable over time. I wouldn't be surprised if navigation tech-
nology becomes mainstream in hip and knee replacement surgery
over the next few years.
