A Simpler Way to Treat Nasal Valve Collapse
Treating nasal valve collapse has traditionally required complex,
painful and potentially disfiguring surgery. Now there's a minimally
invasive fix: an absorbable nasal implant called Latera that improves
breathing by supporting both the upper and lower lateral nasal carti-
lage. A multi-center clinical study found that implanted patients had
results in the range of those produced by more invasive techniques,
with no cosmetic downside, says the company. And since there's vir-
tually no learning curve involved, both ENTs and plastic surgeons can
implant the Latera.
