M
ost people who suffer a fracture, a sprain or a
sports injury tend to head to the nearest ER.
Sometimes that's the only option. But when the
ER's busy, these types of injuries get a low triage
priority. We've all heard the horror stories of wait-
ing 19 hours for treatment of a broken wrist, of being advised to leave
untreated and return later, of referrals for separate visits to outside
specialists because the orthopedist wasn't on duty.
