See More, Clearly, With Leica's Eye Scope
Launched at the American Academy of Ophthalmology's annual meeting in November, the Proveo 8
ophthalmic microscope platform from Leica Microsystems offers visualization upgrades for cataract
and vitreoretinal surgeries. The company's FusionOptics technology combines high-resolution imaging
with an increased depth of field to deliver a texture-rich view, while its CoAx4 Illumination employs 4
individual beam paths that let users adjust the light's diameter so they'll never lose the red reflex.
The Proveo 8's modular design can integrate IOL guidance systems, optical coherence tomography
and "heads-up" 3D viewing monitors, among other upgrades.
