This Light Fixture Continuously Kills Bacteria
Install an Indigo-Clean light fixture just as you would any other light fixture, turn it on
and let the disinfecting begin. The technology, harmless to people and designed to pro-
vide the same illumination as standard overhead lighting, uses high-intensity narrow-
spectrum light to automatically and continuously kill bacteria both in the air and on all
surfaces it comes into contact with. The company says it can reduce bacteria — including
MRSA, C. diff and VRE — by 70% beyond what routine cleaning provides. The killing
mechanism is similar to that of bleach, with the light targeting and deactivating naturally
occurring molecules inside the microorganisms. For areas where bacteria are especially
prevalent and less illumination is needed, there's also an indigo-only version, which
emits a higher dosage of bacteria-killing light.
