A High-Def Colonoscope
Recent advances in gastrointestinal technologies have focused on
enhanced imaging to improve polyp detection rates during colonoscopy
screenings. Pentax Medical has joined the movement with the i10 Series
HD+ Endoscopes, instruments designed to provide physicians with crisp,
clear views of the GI tract with added maneuverability and comfort. A 140-
degree field of view and close-focus imaging upgrade let physicians zoom to
within 2 mm of the mucosa for detailed examination in high magnification.
The scopes also feature larger instrument channels (3.8 mm), slimmer outer
diameters (13.2 mm) and shorter bending sections than the company's previ-
ous generation of scopes. Pentax says the new designs are lighter and have
upgraded ergonomic controls.
