Hard-to-Remove Debris No Match for This Brush
When your reprocessing techs have to remove dried-on soil, blood or debris
on or in an instrument before sterilization, they'll want to reach for polypropylene brushes made of a synthetic material that's more rigid than nylon bristles
and which remain rigid even when wet, says Key Surgical. The brushes,
bright blue to differentiate them from others, are available in 4 lengths (16",
18", 22" and 28") and 13 diameters (.039" at the smallest and .750" at the
largest). Most polypropylene brushes feature looped ends that make them
easy to hang and store — a few styles are designed to be pulled through an
instrument channel or lumen completely, with the bristles centered on the
stainless steel handle. The brushes come in packages of 2 or 50.
