Ideas That Work
COST CUTTING
Sell Your Soon-to-Expire Supplies
We try to keep our inventory to a minimum, but occasionally it becomes clear that we're not going to be able to use a product before its expiration date. Still, that doesn't mean it has to be a total loss. There are 2 other surgery centers in our organization, so I get in touch with them. If they can use it before that date, we let them have it at half-price. There's also another surgery center nearby I can turn to if neither of our partners is interested. When it works out, it's a great deal for everybody. As a last resort, a resell organization will give us either a credit or a check in that situation, though for a smaller amount. So we can almost always recoup at least a little something, and we can keep the unused product out of the trash, which is a nice green benefit.

CUT LOSSES IN HALF It's a win-win when someone's willing to pay 50% for something you'd otherwise have to throw away.
