The unit promotes advanced image processing thanks to Zone Sonography technology, which transmits ultrasound in wide beams instead of narrow beams to capture echo data in large zones. The unit's Sound Speed Correction feature enhances image resolution by adjusting for the optimal speed of ultrasound as it travels through the body. Sonart is a compact, efficient and user-friendly single-cart system. It lets users quickly toggle between endoscopic and ultrasonic images, and store captured images directly to a flashcard. Olympus showcased its new ProSound F75 UltraSound Processor, which boasts improved image quality for seeing more detail in anatomy, increased color Doppler for better vessel sampling and upgraded ergonomics thanks to an adjustable monitor and keyboard. Pentax's EPK-i5010 video processor features the company's proprietary i-scan digital enhancement technology for characterizing and detecting lesions. Unlike the mechanical filter on narrow-band imaging units, this processor features a digital color filter, offering physicians flexibility in enhancing the white light image. It's a streamlined, cost-effective HD processor, says a company rep, giving facilities the technology they need at an affordable price. Compatible with Pentax's 90K and 90i series endoscopes, the processor features user-friendly touch-button controls. Medivators's Jet Prep intracolonic flushing device is currently under FDA review, but expected to hit the market in the coming months. The device's tip produces a high-pressure 360° star-shaped spray pattern — instead of the stream spray delivered from standard irrigation pumps — to wash bowel prep material from the colon in order to complete procedures that might otherwise have been cancelled. — Daniel Cook
