In this age of consumer-driven healthcare, you should perform market surveys to compare pricing with other area facilities — and consider adjusting prices accordingly. Before volume starts to decline or cancellations increase, take a look at your pricing structure and actually consider lowering fees on some procedures as a way to maintain your volumes. Physician-owners at ASCs will most likely hesitate to consider dropping fees, and rightfully so: No one is in business to lose money.
