did all the wire runs on
the booms (they'd
worked with the boom

out any potential issues
up front); the install
and test took about 4
days to complete. We were hardly without an OR and, when we came
in to see the system, it was plug-and-play — ready to go. We have technicians on site in case we run into trouble, but make sure you can get
extensive customer support in the event something does go wrong.
Integration in every OR?
This level of video integration just isn't necessary in every OR — it's
really geared toward optimizing video for minimally invasive abdominal and bariatric procedures. It's OK to be selective because you want
to get it right, regardless of the size of facility you're in. That's not to
say you need all the bells and whistles if you do pursue video integration. Just look for a system that allows lateral and forward compatibility and that makes its complex inner workings easy for the end-user
on a daily basis. You can always build from there. OSM
