ostomy creation. Ethicon Endo-Surgery's Harmonic Ace + Shears with
Adaptive Tissue Technology provides for all those tasks — with the added
ability to respond intelligently as tissue conditions vary. The ultrasonic
device, for use on vessels up to 5mm, reduces thermal spread up to 23% and
shortens transection times by 21%, says the company. The blade is now
tapered and coated to allow for greater multi-functionality without losing
precise grasping and dissection. It's designed for multi-specialty use in colorectal, general, bariatric, gynecology, urology and thoracic surgeries.
