P
atients were already a bit nervous when they would arrive for
their endoscopies or colonoscopies, and we noticed that sit-
ting in the waiting room watching the news would often
stress them out more. We thought, why not get rid of the TVs and
replace them with an aviary? The aviary is filled with a variety of
finches, and patients really enjoy watching them flit around the enclo-
sure. It's nice to see patients smiling as they watch the birds before
their procedures, rather than nervously staring at a screen.
