This process includes manual scrubbing, exposure to sharps and chemicals, and many steps that are prone to human error. Miele compact washerdisinfectors G7899 and G7889 provide an affordable method to automatically clean and disinfect surgical instruments. Even instruments with long, narrow lumens such as rigid endoscopes or laparoscopic instruments can be processed. The washer-disinfector controls and monitors all critical parameters (time, temperature, pump pressure, dispensing) and creates an error condition should anything go wrong. A printer can be connected to verify and document that each cycle was successfully completed. The Miele Vario TD program is proven to remove blood and protein residues that have dried on surgical instruments for up to 6 hours. The final step is a thermal disinfection, so that instruments coming out of the washer are safe to handle for inspection and packaging for sterilization.
