INSIDE JOB
Use Downtime to Refurbish Your Facility
H
ealthcare professionals don't do well sitting still. If your staff
is faced with too much free time during the COVID-19 crisis,
look for non-clinical tasks that need to be done and will ben-
efit your facility in the long term. For example, one of our nurses is
renovating our recovery room by repairing and painting the walls and
generally sprucing up the area to make it more inviting for patients.
Obviously, this isn't a nursing job, but it is something he can do well,
and it's something he wants to do. Most importantly, it's something
that was needed — and probably something we would've put off or
paid a lot to have done if this nurse wasn't willing to make the most of
this unprecedented situation.
