15 Peter Nichol, MD Peter Nichol, MD, is the chief medical officer at Beyond Clean Consulting, an instrument care and sterile processing consulting company. As surgical director of OR services at University of Wisconsin Health, Dr. Nichol has overseen the rebuilding of sterile processing services at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wis. David Ninan, DO David Ninan, DO, is the medical director and chairman of the anesthesia department of Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley, Calif. A Board of Governors member, Dr. Ninan serves as the current treasurer of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Ninan is the winner of the 2016 Riverside University Health System's Bertram H. Eckman, MD, Emerging Leadership Award. Douglas E. Noll, JD, MA Douglas E. Noll, JD, MA, a senior consultant with Mobius Executive Leadership, speaks about and teaches people how to solve difficult, intractable and highly emotional problems. Before turning to leadership development, problem-solving and peacemaking, Mr. Noll spent 22 years as a business and commercial trial lawyer, and has been voted as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" since 2005 by US News & World Report and has been recognized since 2006 as a "Northern California Super Lawyer." Jennifer Pennock Jennifer Pennock is the senior manager of government affairs for AORN in Denver, Colo. Ms. Pennock has nearly 20 years of experience working in government affairs and lobbying in the health policy arena — lobbying that's led to legislative victories like Colorado's recently passed law protecting OR staff from surgical smoke. Melony Prince, BSN, RN, CNOR Melony Prince, BSN, RN, CNOR, is a clinical nurse educator at Littleton (Colo.) Adventist Hospital. Ms. Prince is 1 of just 12 nurses to receive the 2019 Nightingale Luminary Award from the Colorado Nurses Foundation. Michael Redler, MD Dr. Redler is a founding partner of The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center. He specializes in sports medicine as well as hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Redler attended medical school at the University of Connecticut. He did his residency training, including Chief Residency year, at the University of Virginia, where he also completed his Fellowship training in sports medicine and upper extremity with one of the godfathers of sports medicine, Dr. Frank C. McCue, III. Currently, Dr. Redler is a visiting Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Virginia. Dr. Redler is also an Assistant Professor at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Dr. Redler has written numerous articles and textbook chapters on topics of sports medicine as well as hand and upper extremity surgery. His clinical research interests have been presented both nationally and internationally. Dr. Redler is on the physician leadership board for One World Surgery and has been on medical missions providing surgical care to the people of Honduras multiple times. Dr. Redler has a great passion for opioid sparing strategies in the operative setting. He has lectured about this and has a podcast regarding opioid sparing strategies. Additionally, he has designed multiple surgical instruments that are still used in the operating room around the world today. Amidst all of his accomplishments, Dr. Redler still feels that his most important activity is the best possible care of his patients as well as the ongoing education of future sports medicine providers. Karen Rowan, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR Karen Rowan, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR, is the director of system perioperative education at Northwell Health in Lake Success, N.Y. While serving as a perioperative clinical nurse educator at Winthrop University Hospital, Ms. Rowan organized the facility's first Robotic Surgery Conference for all medical staff, RNs and CSTs. Kim S. Schaap, MD Kim S. Schaap, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon for the St. Cloud (Minn.) Surgical Center, an 11-room facility that performs about 10,000 multispecialty cases each year. Dr. Schaap has a special interest in sports medicine — including arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures as well as minimally invasive joint replacements — and is experienced in robotically assisted joint replacement. Amy Shepard, BSN, RN Amy Shepard, BSN, RN, is the PACU nurse manager, and Education Nurse for the St. Cloud (Minn.) Surgical Center, an 11-room facility that performs about 10,000 multispecialty cases each year. Amy has been instrumental in supporting the facility's joint replacement program and AAAHC Orthopedic certification. Scott A. Sigman, MD Dr. Scott Sigman is a nationally recognized leader in Opioid Sparing surgery. He is an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in sports medicine. He did his training at the prestigious Kerlan Jobe Orthopedic clinic. He has been in private practice for over 25 years just north of Boston. His Opioid sparing approach to surgery has brought him international recognition as he was elected to be a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Ashish Sinha, MD, PhD, DABA, MBA Ashish Sinha, MD, PhD, DABA, MBA, is a professor and the vice chairman of the department of anesthesiology at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., and currently serves on the Outpatient Surgery Magazine Editorial Board. Dr. Sinha has authored or co-authored more than 100 manuscripts and delivered more than 600 CME lectures on 6 continents. Angela Tarquini-Sanders Angela Tarquini-Sanders is a mindfulness instructor and the founder of Mindful Mindz (mindfulmindz.com), a Naples, Fla.-based organization that offers tools and training in mindfulness and personal development for adults and kids. Ms. Tarquini-Sanders has spent the last 18 years studying and cultivating her mindfulness practice, and has delivered mindfulness and positivity workshops in her community and throughout the country. Ms. Tarquini-Sanders discovered mindfulness during her search to find balance as a former marketing consultant in the healthcare industry and a mother of 3. Julie Tonsager, RN Julie Tonsager, RN, is the OR nurse manager for St. Cloud (Minn.) Surgical Center, an 11-room facility that performs about 10,000 multispecialty cases each year. With 39 years of experience as an OR nurse — 19 of which were spent at St. Cloud Surgical Center — Ms. Tonsager lead several of the orthopedic teams that assisted in the facility's joint replacement cases. Ms. Tonsager instrumental in rolling out the robotic joint replacement program at St. Cloud Surgical Center.
