This UV-C Robot Hangs From the OR Ceiling
Looking for a low-cost, hands-free option for UV-C ultraviolet surface
disinfection of the OR? Look up at the ceiling, where you'll find the
Ultrasweep permanently installed, suspended 7 ft. to 8 ft. above the
floor like a disinfecting drone. During a 20- to 30-minute sterilization
cycle, the radiation source travels along a 10-ft. diameter circle. In
addition to the savings on the robot itself, the labor savings are consid-
erable when compared with floor-based, transportable systems, and
the staff required to move and operate them. A hinged panel protecting
the UV lamps opens and closes automatically at the start and end of
each cycle.
