In addition to providing an ambulatory infusion pump, the InfuBLOCK ® pain management program provides patient follow up, data collection, pump retrieval, and patient interaction when issues occur (Table 2). This full suite of services is available with reusable electronic pumps that are much more accurate than elastomeric pumps (±6% vs ±20%), which leads to better medication delivery and therefore may lead to better pain management. With InfuBLOCK ® 's patient follow-up, clinicians are able to monitor and adjust therapy. The data allow clinicians to gather pain and patient satisfaction scores to verify the success of therapy. The last 3,000 patients enrolled in the InfuBLOCK ® program were shown to have controlled pain, with an average pain score of 3 out of 10 on post-op days 1-2 and 2 out of 10 on day 3. The average patient satisfaction score was 9.31 out of 10. Programs that collect pump and patient data thru scheduled follow ups are a key contributor to a successful pain management program. These programs ensure that a patient's pain is effectively treated and provides real-time data to the clinician to adjust the treatment plan as needed. Table 2.
