before a panel of
judges, who scored
based on various
points, such as feasibil-
ity, cost saving oppor-
tunity and originality.
Judges awarded gold
and silver medals for the top money-saving ideas:
1. Change preference cards to procedure cards. Lehigh shrunk 150
urology preference cards down to 10 procedure cards. For the top 10
urology procedures, Lehigh's 9 surgeons had 150 preference cards
covering 10 procedures across 3 sites. Administrators asked each
urologist to agree to a single procedure card. In 3 months, they saved

• WATER CONSERVATION Lehigh Valley Health Network replaced foot pedals with
